Africa had a dream, a common dream of a shared prosperity and common future born out of several nations many years ago across East Africa (Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Comoros, Mauritius, Seychelles and Madagascar), West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, GuineaBissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo.), Southern Africa (Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe), North Africa (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Western Sahara) and Central Africa (Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and São Tomé and Príncipe).
Our founders shared not only reaffirmed their grateful in the diversity of her heritage; they shared an abiding faith in the possibilities and prosperity of this great continent. In all their lives, they imagined, longed and aspired for a greater Africa while finding encouragement that their dreams will live on in the next generation after they are long gone.
This is a debt that every living African owes. We owe this to ourselves and the generation after. And as we began this journey this day, our pride is based on a very simple premise, summed up in our declaration that we have professed, ‘’Africa Shall be Great Again’’. We therefore boldly reaffirm the ideals of community, faith, and service to our father land knowing that our story is
part of the larger African story, that we owe to all of those who came before us, and all those who shall come after us, that, in no other continent on earth other than Africa, shall this story be told.
